<aside> 💡 This page describes how to create questions within the Notion database, with a brief description of the page linking, question properties, and coding system used for question titles.

There are three main ways to create a question in Notion:

  1. Create a question from scratch (includes description of coding system for titles & property definitions)
  2. Create a question from a template (includes instructions on how to create/edit a template)
  3. Duplicate an existing question

1. Creating a Question from Scratch

Click on the New button in the top right-hand corner of the page (circled in red below):

The new question is now open as a pop-upbgf67 window in the database page. If you like, select the Open as Page button in the top left-hand corner to view the question in a full window rather than a pop up (circled in red below):

The Question Title is coded by subject, module/topic, learning outcome (LO) number, sub-learning outcome (SLO) number, and then question number:

FOR EXAMPLE: [SUBJECT]-[MODULE/TOPIC][LO#][SLO#][Q#] = MECH-V03.2.4

Note: If the number will be greater than 10, two digits are needed (i.e. 01 vs. 1) for Notion to order them correctly
